Embalming

Is Embalming Necessary?

The purpose of embalming is to ensure disinfection and temporary preservation of the body during the funeral period. It can also ensure a more natural appearance of the deceased.

Sometimes, if the funeral is delayed for some reason or if the body has to be transferred to another city or country, embalming is mandatory. The staff at Pellows Funeral Directors can discuss the options with you and help you make the right choice.

We have experienced, qualified staff who will carry out the embalming process, and at all times the body will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity.

Embalming is a skilled process and should only be performed by trained practitioners who are members of the FDANZ and/or the NZ Embalmers Association.

We appointed Pellows and Beth Richards to handle our mums funeral and that decision ensured that we as a family were able to manage so much better through this difficult time.
Everything was coordinated perfectly, nothing was too much trouble but probably what stands out in particular was the way the Pellows team were able to smooth the way by dealing with all the little issues that we had not expected and would have struggled with.
Professional, thoughtful and caring is how I can describe their service delivery. I recommend Pellows and Beth without hesitation. Thank you Team.
